Open Flow sessions are freestyle riding sessions designed for confident FlowRider riders who are comfortable entering the wave and riding independently. Riders share the wave and rotate turns, creating a fast-paced environment to practice tricks, improve technique, and ride alongside other experienced flowboarders.

Riders must have an Open Flow Card or instructor approval to participate.

FlowRider Rules
  1. Mind the Line
    • No snaking - wait your turn
    • One rider on the wave at a time
    • Wait until the rider grabs their board and clears the wave before entering
  2. Mind the Clock
    • Don’t be a wave hog
    • Take your run and rotate out
    • Keep sessions flowing for everyone
  3. Respect the Boards
    • No throwing boards
    • No boards on concrete
    • Share boards if there aren’t enough for every rider
  4. Control Your Spray
    • Accidents happen - intentional spraying doesn’t
    • Don’t soak riders, staff, or the lineup on purpose
  5. Move Smart
    • No running
    • No sliding on walls or sides of the wave
    • Walk carefully at all times
  6. Good Vibes
    • Be encouraging
    • No trash talk or putting others down
  7. Instructor Authority
    • Always obey the instructors
    • Failure to follow directions may result in removal from the session

Open Flow sessions are designed for riders who are comfortable on the FlowRider and ready to ride independently. These sessions allow experienced riders to practice skills, refine technique, and work on tricks in a shared wave environment.

Riders rotate through the wave with others in the session, creating a fun, high-energy atmosphere where everyone can progress together.

Session Format

• Riders take turns on the wave during the session
• Independent riding — minimal instruction provided
• Shared session with other experienced riders
• Opportunity to practice tricks, carves, and freestyle riding
• Fast rotation depending on group size

Who It's For

Open Flow is best suited for riders who:

• Can enter the wave independently
• Have solid balance and control
• Are comfortable riding without instructor assistance
• Have previously completed Guided Flow sessions or equivalent experience

Good to Know
  • Signed waiver required for all riders
  • Must meet minimum height requirements
  • Proper swimwear required
  • Helmets and safety equipment available upon request
  • Sessions are scheduled with a minimum of 3 riders to keep the wave flowing and the experience fun for everyone
